Directions:

From the East: Coming from the East on Highway 64, Desert View is the first opportunity you will have to view the Grand Canyon after coming into Grand Canyon National Park at the east entrance. Follow the signs to the Desert View parking area, then walk down the paved path to the Trading Post, just up the hill from the Watchtower.

 
From the South:    From Grand Canyon’s south entrance gate on Hwy. 64, continue north and follow the signs to Grand Canyon. Keep an eye out for a right turn onto East Rim Drive toward Cameron, following the signs to Desert View, 23 miles to the East. Follow the signs to the Desert View parking area, then walk down the paved path to the Trading Post, just up the hill from the Watchtower.
 

From Grand Canyon Village: Go south on Center Road to the "T" of Highway 64 - turn left and follow the signs to Desert View and Cameron, taking the next right onto East Rim Drive, and out 23 miles to Desert View. Follow the signs to the Desert View parking area, then walk down the paved path to the Trading Post, just up the hill from the Watchtower.

Located just up the hill from Desert View’s historic Watchtower, a true tourist destination, the Desert View Trading Post serves Grand Canyon visitors with a family-oriented gift shop and snack bar. Shop for a wide variety of Grand Canyon themed gifts and souvenirs, t-shirts, Native American handcrafts, children’s items, books and postcards in a rustic western environment, and then take a break in the snack bar with its all-day menu of hot foods, cold snacks and drinks.

Description 

The Desert View Trading Post is a great place to shop for Grand Canyon themed gifts. You’ll enjoy the western ambience of the store, with its wagon wheel chandeliers and rustic wood flooring.  Browse the selection of apparel, souvenirs and Native American handcrafts. There is also a children’s section with t-shirts, caps, toys and books. Look for our selection of eco-friendly products where you may find items made from corn, organic cotton and recycled materials. Re-usable water bottles and shopping bags are available. Bring in your used batteries, and we’ll make sure that they’re recycled. 
 
All Xanterra stores at the South Rim are longtime members of the Indian Arts and Crafts Association, promoting authentic Native American creations. You can be assured that you are purchasing authentic Native American arts and handcrafts in our stores.
 
When you need a break, you’ll appreciate the adjacent sit-down Snack Bar, with its all-day menu of soups and hot dishes, burgers, hot dogs, salads, sandwiches, desserts and drinks, both hot and cold.
 
There is also a service station at Desert View, with fuel available 24 hours a day with a credit card.
