Hermits Rest Tour

The Hermits Rest Tour is a two-hour narrated motorcoach tour that travels westward eight miles one way along the old wagon road built by the Santa Fe Railway.

There are stops along the West Rim at several spectacular overlooks, with a glimpse of the rapids of the Colorado River below. The tour stops at Hermits Rest, a unique building of native stone created by Mary Elizabeth Jane Colter in 1914. This tour returns via the same route.

Desert View Tour

The Desert View Tour covers some 52 miles in 3.75 hours. Traveling east along the Rim of the Grand Canyon, the Colorado River emerges from the depths of the inner gorge and many of its rapids can be viewed.

This tour stops at Lipan Point, often said to be the most spectacular viewpoint on the East Rim Drive.

The highlight of the tour is the stop at Desert View, an outpost some 25 miles from Grand Canyon Village. Here you will find the Watchtower, a re-creation of the unusual towers erected by the ancient native peoples of the Southwest. The view from atop the Watchtower is nothing short of breathtaking.

$46 per person. Children 16 and under are free when accompanied by a paying adult.

Railway Express Tour

The Railroad Express is a half-day tour. Step back in history and ride in a vintage train, operating between Williams, Arizona and the Grand Canyon.
Combine the Grand Canyon Railway and a Harvey car for a nostalgic journey. Your trip starts at the Grand Canyon and comes complete with strolling musicians, cowboys and a gunfight.
This tour is for the "train enthusiast" as it does not offer views of the canyon. 1950’s era diesel locomotives power the train year-round.

$65 per person, $37 for children 16 and under. Visit www.thetrain.com for more information on this historic way to visit the Grand Canyon.
