Thank you for your interest in working at Grand Canyon National Parks Lodges. We employ international students each season. However, we do not sponsor the students. In order to work for our National Park Lodges, it is necessary for international applicants to be students and they must have a J-1 Exchange Visitors’ Visa (J-1 allows for cultural exchange for work and travel).
Each agency listed below can assist students and each operates differently. You may need to apply to the agency for placement. Program costs differ with each agency.
- CIEE – Visit online or call directly at 207-553-4000
- Janus International – Visit online or call toll-free at 866-249-3888
It is the policy of our Lodges to retain a copy of your I-94, DS-2019, and un-expired passport. You must have valid J1 status and a DS-2019 form authorizing you to work in the United States, along with an American Social Security Card or proof of application for a card when you report for work.
Generally speaking, J-1 Visa applicants must:
- Must be 18 – 28 years of age
- Must be a full time student at the time of application
- Must have a maximum of 4-month work period during summer vacations
These programs hold interviews from approximately September to March, depending on the agency and country. Inquiries after that date are generally not accepted. The programs listed above are the only agencies for referrals for J-1 status students we are working with at this time.
We do not accept online applications from students in this program. You must apply through one of the two primary agencies listed above.
If you have already been accepted and are traveling to the park, you must first travel to Flagstaff, Arizona and from there catch a shuttle to Grand Canyon. You may make a reservation with Arizona Shuttle to catch a ride. For information, go to www.arizonashuttle.com or call 1-800-888-2749.
You must be prepared to give your name, the number of people in your party, the date you will be traveling and a credit card number. To get the best pricing, make your reservation via their website. To avoid park entry fees, let the driver know you have a job offer from our company.
