The lynx is an endangered species and inhabits limited areas of North America and Eurasia. Lynx usually hunt and live alone, and have specific habit needs for hunting. Its main prey is the snowshoe hare. Generally a lynx will sneak up on its prey, leaping up to 10 feet in a surprise pounce! Its large paws act as snowshoes to keep the lynx from sinking in deep snow, and thick fur keeps it warm during harsh winters.
