The vegetal dyeing of wool is an involved procedure requiring considerable time and preparation. Once prepared into yarn, the wool must be throughly washed and rinsed twice. Plants gathered at different times of year produce varying colors. Plants gathered in summer and early fall give richer tones, while those gathered in winter or early spring produce lighter tones.
