Located approximately 215 miles by road from the location of the fire at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, all lodges, dining, and experiences along the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park remain open and fully operational. With 5 lodging options inside the park, an additional 2 in the gateway town of Tusayan—including The Grand Hotel and the new Grand Canyon Hotel & Suites outside of the park—and another offering both lodging and a historic train ride to the canyon with the Grand Canyon Railway & Hotel in Williams, our team remains committed to ensuring a safe, comfortable, and exceptional experience in one of the world’s most stunning natural landscapes.
We are happy to share that Phantom Ranch (lodging and canteen) is tentatively scheduled to reopen on November 1, 2025.
Prior to reopening Phantom Ranch, the park is implementing enhanced safety measures — including new flood detection and warning systems, evacuation planning, and visitor information, to provide improved safety for overnight guests.
The following trails are now open:
If you have a reservation that was booked for Phantom Ranch that is affected (a stay through October 31), a member of our team will reach out to you. Our agents will be in touch with affected guests to discuss options and we appreciate your patience due to the high volume of guests we are contacting. Please also note that Phantom Ranch mule rides are still cancelled through February 28, 2026.
